Masteller Coal Company 0-4-2 Locomotives of the USA

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 1 (Locobase 14130)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Volume 47, p. 294. Works number was 38273 in September 1912.

Although it used the same boiler and grate design as the Hawai'ian saddle tank shown in Locobase 13128, this "Forney", as it was contemporarily described, was a substantially heavier locomotive because the tank had more than double the earlier capacity. It still rolled on 20 lb/yard (10 kg/metre) rail for this Keyser, West Virginia coal company.

The 1 was later sold to Elkins Sewell Coal Company.
