Data from W&LE 8 - 1923 & 10 1924 Locomotive Diagram books supplied in May 2005 by Allen Stanley from his extensive Raildata collection. Works numbers were 82-83 in July 1884.

Forty years after the first deliveries, the Raildata collection of Americans on the W&LE had a variegated look and several pairs of road number for each subclass. This pair owned even more because of its prior history with the L&P. In 1885, the two passed into Lake Erie ownership and took the first brace of five sets of road numbers.

Compared to the W&LE batch (Locobase 7878), delivered a year earlier, these engines had fewer and shorter tubes.

1402 was scrapped in December 1924 and 1401 followed in October 1926.
