Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Volume 27, p. 96. Works numbers were 24539 in August 1904

The New Orleans, Fort Jackson & Grand Isle began service in 1891 and ran south to Buras, La some 60 miles away.

In 1908, the NOFJ & GI was leased by the New Orleans Southern; see Locobase 13495. This Eight-wheeler joined an identical engine purchased by that road in the same year.

NB: All heating surface areas are estimates. They are based on the known figures given in the Baldwin specfications for the Western Railways of Havana engine 21 of 1893 described in Locobase 12074, which had the same tube count and lengths only 1/2" longer and a firebox whose length was 3/16" shorter, 3/8" narrower, and a depth at the rear only 1/2" less.
