Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University, Volume 15, p. 37. Works number was 9891 in March 1889. See the Handbook of Texas Online http://www.tshaonline.org/handbook/online/articles/RR/eqrft.html . This small, lightly built railroad served the coal mines at Santo Tomas Mine along a 27 3/4-mile route from Laredo. Over time, as the mines petered out, the end-of-track inched away from the mines. The last big mine closed in 1939 and the RG & EP filed for abandonment in 1942, but remained opened to Milepost 7 to serve a gunnery range. Thgat last segment closed in 1947.
