Susquehanna & New York 4-4-0 "American" Locomotives of the USA

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 113 (Locobase 13202)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Volume 31, p. 67. Works number was 32130 in November 1907.

At the same time the Pennsylvania short line bought a Consolidation from Baldwin, it took delivery of a relatively large mixed-traffic Eight-wheeler. Given that the main line measured about 55 miles, speed clearly mattered less than a flexible engine that could handle both passenger and light freight service.

The 113 remained on the S & NY until it was scrapped in 1934.
