Class 9 (Locobase 15380)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Vol 14, p. 71. Works numbers were 9065, 9073 in February 1888.

These two saddle tanks were bought by the San Francisco company that managed the cable car networks as well as steam-powered railways. Soon after the P&CH bought these engines, the company was reorganized as the Ferries & Cliff House. See Locobase 11659 for some details.

The 1 was later sold to the San Jose & Alum Rock in 1896 as their #3 and soon went to work for the San Jose & Santa Clara. It found later work on the Shasta Land & Lumber. 2 was sold directly to the SL&L as their #4. A couple of years later the 2 went to Glynn & Peterson Mill & Lumber company. Finally, the Port Arena Tie & Fluming Co put the engine to work.
