Class 2 (Locobase 14122)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University, Volume 43, p. 217. Works number was 38948 in December 1912.

This very short Missouri shortline was incorporated in December 1889 to operate in the state's northwest. Its Rock Port terminus lay 5.6 miles to the north of Langdon, which was the junction point with the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy. .James H Hedgpeth ran the RPL&N from 1909 and soon increased revenue sufficiently to buy a brand-new saddletank engine.

After more than 55 years, the RPL&N closed on 11 November 1945.

Grandson J Pete Hedgpeth wrote a memoir entitled Five Miles of Family Ties.
