Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 2 (Locobase 12682)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Vol 25 p. 284. Works number was 22319 in June 1903

One of the many logging roads in northern California's Redwood Coast, the ERM & LC was founded near Eureka by the Flak family in 1860 and remained under their control until 1915.

At some point in the 19'teens, the ERM&LC sold the 2 to the OG Leach Lumber Company of Lottie, Louisiana. OG Leach sold the engine to the locomotive rebuilder/reseller Southern Iron & Equipment in 1918. SI&E soon persuaded Baker Wakefield Cypress of Plattville, La to buy it, then BWC sold it to Bond-Foley Lumber of Jackson, Kentucky, BFL sold it back to SI&E in 1924, and SI&E sold it to Woodstock Slag Company of Woodward, Ala.
