Locobase 14424 notes that the Central Jaronu (pronounced Har-o-NU) was under construction by theVictor G Mendoza Company for the American Sugar Corporation on a scale that would dwarf the ASC's Central Cunagua. CJ was based in Camaguey Province on the North Coast Railroad 30 miles (48.3 km) east of the CC and a few miles inland of Jiguey Bay. Granary's report gives details of a plant that would be the largest in the world by 1934.

Most relevant to the procurement of these oil-fired plantation Ten-wheelers was the 90 km (55.9 miles) of track over which the cane cars would move. Central Cunagua had already taken one of the CC's 4-6-0s and ASC bought a sextet of duplicates (except for the substitution of oil fuel for the CC's coal). The railroad ran over 60 lb/yard (30 kg/metre) rail and ascended "very slight" grades and ran around gentle curves. The engines used 9 1/2" (241 mm) piston valves to supply the cylinders with steam.

They would add a seventh three years later.
