Central Juanita 2-6-0 "Mogul" Locomotives of the USA

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 5 (Locobase 14179)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Volume 49, p. 73. Works number was 39057 in January 1913.

Almost four years after the CJ took delivery of the 2-4-0 shown in Locobase 14177, its broker, Ernst Wiener Company, ordered this slightly larger engine. The power dimensions yielded a tractive effort some 50% higher and the 5's adhesion wheelbase was almost twice as long under the longer firetubes.
