Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 5 (Locobase 12025)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Volume 17, p. 246. Works numbers were 12611 in April 1892.

Gene Connelly gives the first owner as the Philadelphia & Reading with road number 19. The Baldwin specs show the buyer as the HR & SB, which ran for 15 1/2 miles on 45-lb/yard (iron) and 56-lb/yard steel rail. 8.4 miles of the line had originally been laid by the Gettysburg & Harrisburg.

By 1910, the Mogul was sold to the Lancaster & Reading, which was taken over by the Reading in 1914 and renumbered 1453.
