Class 3 (Locobase 12171)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Volume 20, p. 39. Works number was 14494 in October 1895.

In 1903, the Portland & Rumford Falls dissolved its subsidiary and this tank was renumbered 53. Four years later, the Maine Central leased the P & RF and RF & RL for 999 years. Unlike the 2-6-2T shown in Locobase 12169, however, the MEC held onto the 162, converting it to a 2-6-2T and placing in its own class F.

After another nine years of service, the 162 was scrapped in September 1916.
