Texas South-Eastern 2-6-0 "Mogul" Locomotives of the USA

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 6 (Locobase 12821)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Volume 28, p. 85. See description of the Texas Southeastern in Locobase 12821. Works number was 26971 in December 1905.

This Mogul's boiler pressure setting, combined with the small boiler and low cylinder volume, made it something of a pocket rocket. Indeed, Locobase wonders how long the TSE operated the 6 at that relatively intense reading given the use of slide valves.
