Nacional de Mexico 2-8-0 "Consolidation" Locomotives in the USA

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class G-30 (Locobase 11972)

Data from NdeM 1946 Locomotive Diagrams Standard Gauge supplied in May 2005 by Allen Stanley.

The two former Bullfrog & Goldfield Consolidations produced in 1906 (Locobase 11971) came to the NdeM in 1927 by way of the American Smelting & Refining Corporation. By the time of the 1946 diagram, the boiler had lost 30 tubes, but the firebox heating surface had increased by 70 sq ft (6.50 sq m). This may all have been associated with a conversion to oil-firing. The modified engines were a bit lighter on the rails as well.

1366 was retired in September 1953 while 1364 lasted until July 1958.
