Rio Grande & Eagle Pass 2-8-0 "Consolidation" Locomotives in the USA

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 4 (Locobase 13560)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University, Volume 34, p. 182. See Locobase 11592 for a brief history of this road. Works number was 34411 in March 1910.

This Consolidation supplemented the #6 Brooks-built 2-8-0 produced in October 1899 with more cylinder volume. No information on how long the two worked on the road, but the line closed the Gardner-Delores segment as traffic dwindled. The RG&EP closed in December 1946.
