Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University, Volume 45, p. 146. Works number was 40594 in September 1913.

The Ferdinand went into service in 1909 as the Railway, but reorganized as the Ferdinand Railroad in 1911. The 6 1/2-mile (10-km) railroad connected Ferdinand, Indiana and nearby Huntingburg. The 3 was retired in 1951 and scrapped in 1952.
