These two locomotives -- "William M Stockton" was the other -- were typical American locomotives of the time. Boiler pressure is estimated based on several other contemporary engines.

David Bright, webmaster of the CSA site, which organizes and publishes information on all Confederate railroads, has tables of usage by railroad. On those tables, William M Stockton is shown as W S Stockton -- probably the correct name as these are the returns from the South Carolina Railroad itself.
